Express $199 USD per card Not specified here Not specified here
Premier $599 USD per card Not specified here Not specified here

Name changes:

  • Regular is now Priority
  • Walk-Through is now Premier
  • Express remains Express
  • Standard is the new active lower-cost tier
  • Value remains paused

Processing notice: New Standard orders are processed behind existing Value and Bulk orders.

What Changed

The previous lower-cost Value option remains unavailable. PSA has indicated that it needs its active backlog to fall to approximately 5 million cards before reactivating Value. The backlog was approximately 9 million cards in late September 2026.

Standard is not a replacement for Value. It is a separate active service level at $59.99 USD per card.

The Standard estimate is 90 to 100 business days. This is a business-day estimate for the grading service. It should not be treated as a complete door-to-door timeline from Canada.

Timing Variables

  • Canadian shipping to PSA
  • Intake and order processing
  • Existing Value and Bulk submissions ahead of Standard
  • Grading and encapsulation
  • Return shipping to Canada
  • Customs processing
  • Potential brokerage or duties on the return leg

Expectation setting: Submit only when a multi-month process is acceptable.

The Canadian Cost Calculation

PSA’s listed fee is one line in the submission budget.

Cost Checklist

  • PSA grading fee in USD
  • Currency conversion
  • Shipping from Canada
  • Shipping insurance
  • Packaging and submission supplies
  • Declared value considerations
  • Return shipping
  • Insurance on the return shipment
  • Possible duties
  • Possible brokerage charges
  • Payment processing or foreign-exchange costs

The $1,000 Standard maximum insured value is a service-level limit. It is not a statement about a card’s resale price, future price, or guaranteed compensation.

Use the declared value carefully. It should reflect the information PSA requires for the submission. Confirm the current submission instructions, shipping process, customs requirements, and return terms before sending cards.

Canadian submission status: Calculate the complete landed cost before choosing a tier.

When Standard Makes Sense

Standard can be appropriate when all of the following conditions are met:

  • The card has enough value or personal importance to justify the full submission cost
  • The card appears structurally suitable for grading
  • A 90 to 100 business-day estimate is acceptable
  • The $1,000 maximum insured value fits the submission
  • The card does not need to be available during the processing period
  • The expected grade matters to the collecting objective
  • The total cost is acceptable after currency conversion and shipping

Standard is less suitable when the card is inexpensive, condition is uncertain, or the primary goal is a quick turnaround.

Priority, Express, and Premier

Priority: Formerly Regular, now listed at $79.99 USD.

Express: Listed at $199 USD. Use only when the faster service structure justifies the additional fee.

Premier: Formerly Walk-Through, now listed at $599 USD. This is a high-cost option for submissions where service speed and declared-value requirements justify the fee.

Do not choose a service level based only on the label. Compare:

  1. Card value
  2. Declared value
  3. Total Canadian cost
  4. Timing requirement
  5. Condition risk
  6. Availability of an already-graded copy

Grade the Card, Buy the Slab, or Keep It Raw?

Use three options.

Option 1: Submit the Raw Card

Submit when:

  • The card is clean under direct light
  • Corners and edges show no obvious damage
  • Centering appears acceptable
  • Surface scratches, dents, print lines, and whitening are limited
  • The card has enough value to support the total cost
  • A professional grade provides a specific collecting benefit

Do not submit because a card is popular. Popularity does not guarantee a strong grade or a price premium.

Option 2: Buy an Already-Graded Card

Buying an existing slab can remove:

  • PSA submission fees
  • International shipping
  • Return shipping
  • Waiting time
  • Grade uncertainty
  • The risk of receiving a lower grade than expected

Raging Canucks inventory includes graded One Piece cards across PSA, CGC, and BGS holders:

CGC and BGS slabs are valid alternatives collectors may encounter. Compare the card, label, grade, holder, certification details, and asking price directly. Do not assume that a numerical grade from different companies is automatically interchangeable.

Option 3: Keep the Card Raw

Keeping a card raw can be the correct choice when:

  • The card is for personal collection use
  • The card is intended for play or display
  • The grading fee is a large percentage of the card’s price
  • Condition concerns make a high grade unlikely
  • A slab does not add meaningful utility
  • The card is not being sold or compared in a graded market

Current raw One Piece examples include:

Roronoa Zoro PRB02-006 Round 1 Promo

The PSA Standard fee alone can be substantial compared with lower-priced raw singles. Add Canadian shipping and return costs before deciding.

UFC Autographs: The Same Decision Applies

Grading is not limited to TCG cards. UFC autograph cards also require a raw-versus-graded cost comparison.

Tito Ortiz 2024 Topps Chrome UFC Hall of Fame Gold Refractor Auto /50

Royce Gracie 2010 Topps UFC Main Event Autograph Relic #1

For an autograph card, inspect the signature, surface, corners, edges, card stock, relic area, and condition of any existing holder. A grading submission does not remove the need to verify the product details before purchase.

How to Evaluate a Graded Card Before Buying

Use this checklist.

Card Identification

Confirm:

  • Player or character
  • Set name
  • Card number
  • Language
  • Parallel or variant
  • Autograph or relic designation
  • Serial numbering
  • Promotional status

A similar card number or artwork can represent a different version.

Certification

Check the certification number through the grading company’s official verification system where available.

Match:

  • Certification number
  • Card description
  • Grade
  • Label
  • Company
  • Holder details

A certification lookup supports identification. It does not replace inspection of the actual item and seller listing.

Physical Holder

Inspect:

  • Cracks
  • Damage
  • Separation
  • Scratches that affect visibility
  • Label errors
  • Signs of tampering
  • Photography that hides the back of the card

Request clear front and back images when the listing does not provide them.

Price Comparison

Compare the total asking price with:

  • Raw copies
  • The same grade
  • Other grades
  • The same card from other graders
  • Current completed sales where available
  • Canadian shipping and taxes

Do not treat a grade as a guarantee of future appreciation. A slab provides a grade and protective holder. The purchase decision remains dependent on the card, price, condition, and collecting objective.

Canadian Submission Decision

Submit to PSA when:

  • The card supports the full cost
  • Condition is strong
  • Standard’s $1,000 maximum fits
  • A 90 to 100 business-day estimate is acceptable
  • The grade has a defined purpose

Buy an existing slab when:

  • A comparable graded card is available
  • The total price is reasonable after shipping
  • Waiting is not useful
  • Grade uncertainty is not acceptable

Keep raw when:

  • The card is lower value
  • The card is for play or personal display
  • The expected grade is uncertain
  • Submission costs exceed the practical benefit

Before submitting: Confirm current PSA instructions, declared value requirements, shipping procedures, insurance, customs treatment, and return costs. PSA pricing is listed in USD. Canadian landed cost will vary by shipment and carrier.
